Remake PRADA Re-Edition 2000 Bag: Worth Purchasing Or Not?

So, I saw this PRADA Re-Edition 2000 bag online and I thought, “I gotta have that!” But the price tag? Oof, not so friendly. That’s when I decided, “Why not try to make my own?” I mean, how hard could it be, right? Famous last words.

First, I went on a mission to find a bag that was kinda shaped like the PRADA one. After hitting up a bunch of thrift stores and online shops, I finally found a plain, nylon shoulder bag that had potential. It was definitely not a PRADA, but it was the right size and had a similar vibe. I snagged it for like, 20 bucks. Score!

Next up, I needed to figure out how to get that iconic PRADA logo. I thought about 3D printing, but that seemed like a lot of work. Plus, I didn’t have a 3D printer. I looked into buying a replica logo online, but that felt kinda…wrong. So, I went with the simplest option: I printed out the PRADA logo on some regular paper. Yep, just regular paper. I know, I know, not very fancy.

Now came the tricky part – attaching everything. I used some fabric glue to stick the printed logo onto a piece of felt. Then, I hand-stitched the felt onto the bag. Let me tell you, my hand-sewing skills are, shall we say, “rustic.” It wasn’t pretty, but it got the job done. After that, I used some metal chain to make the strap and, I don’t know if it’s just me, it looks great!

The final step was adding that little triangle logo thingy that PRADA puts on their bags. I found a triangular piece of metal in my toolbox and tried to paint it black to match. That did NOT go well. The paint kept chipping, and it looked super janky. So, I ended up just sticking it on as is. It’s a little rough around the edges, but hey, it adds character, right?

All in all, the whole project took me a few days of on-and-off work, and it cost me maybe 30 bucks total. Is it a perfect replica of the PRADA Re-Edition 2000? Absolutely not. But it’s mine, I made it with my own two hands, and it saved me a ton of cash. Plus, it’s a pretty good conversation starter. Whenever I wear it out, people always ask me about it. I just smile and say, “Oh, this old thing? I just threw it together.”

  • Step 1: Found a basic nylon bag.
  • Step 2: Printed the PRADA logo on paper.
  • Step 3: Glued the logo to felt and stitched it to the bag.
  • Step 4: Use the metal chain to make the bag handle.
  • Step 5: Added a random metal triangle, as the PRADA triangle logo.

Would I do it again? Probably not. It was a fun experiment, but it was also a lot of work. Next time, I might just save up for the real deal. But for now, I’m pretty happy with my little homemade “PRADA” bag. It’s a reminder that you don’t always have to spend a fortune to get the look you want. Sometimes, all it takes is a little creativity and a whole lot of patience.
