YSL JUNE BOX BAG Remake: Find It at the Official Flagship Store!

So, I’ve been seeing these fancy Yves Saint Laurent YSL JUNE BOX BAGs all over the place, you know? The young folks, they’re all about them. They say it’s a classic, this one. And this new one I’ve been hearing about, it’s a “remake,” like they took the old design and gave it a new twist. I thought, “Why not give it a go myself?” Not to make a perfect copy, mind you, but to capture the spirit of it. A little project, you could say.

I gathered my materials. Got some nice leather, similar to what they use for the real deal, I reckon. Found some sturdy thread, and dug out my old sewing kit. This is where it started getting interesting, you see. I’m no professional, but I’ve mended my fair share of clothes and quilts. This was a different beast, though. More structure to it, more, you know, engineering. But here’s the kicker, I did my research. Looked at pictures, read descriptions, and I saw folks calling these remakes “dupes”. Like a cheaper, more personalized version of the fancy designer brand. I thought that was pretty smart, and it made me feel less bad about giving this whole thing a try!

  • First, I sketched out a pattern. Based on what I could see online, you know, just eyeballing it. It’s a boxy shape, so that wasn’t too hard.
  • Then, I cut the leather. Now, this took some patience. You gotta be precise, or the whole thing ends up wonky. I’ve made so many mistakes before, but this time, I was determined to make it work.
  • Next came the sewing. This is where my quilting experience came in handy. Stitching the pieces together, making sure the seams were strong and even. This bag’s gotta hold its shape, after all.
  • I even added a little pocket inside. For practicality, you see. Gotta have a place for your keys and whatnot.

The whole process, it took a while. A lot of time I could have used for watching my favorite shows or reading my favorite books, but I decided to take on this little project, and it was quite fun! Many hours, to be exact. There were moments of frustration, I won’t lie. Times when I wanted to throw the whole thing in the bin. But I persevered. Reminded myself it’s not about perfection, it’s about the process, the learning. And the brand, YSL, apparently they have a ton of bags, but this JUNE BOX one seemed the simplest to try and remake.

The Result

And you know what? It turned out pretty good! It’s not an exact replica, not by a long shot. But it’s got that boxy shape, that simple, elegant look. It’s something I’m proud of, something I made with my own two hands. It might not be a real Yves Saint Laurent, but it’s my version of it, and that’s good enough for me. Now I have a new bag, and I can’t wait to show it off! It feels really good knowing that I made it with my own hands, and that I didn’t have to spend a fortune for something that looks just as good as the real one.
