Okay, so, I’ve been wanting to get my hands on one of those fancy Yves Saint Laurent bags for a while now. But, you know, they’re kind of pricey. So, I thought, “Why not try to remake one myself?” I decided to go for the LE CARRÉ SATCHEL BAG. It’s got that classic, understated look that I really dig.
First off, I spent a good chunk of time just staring at pictures of the bag online. I was trying to get a feel for the dimensions, the materials, and all those little details. I even went to the official YSL website and looked around their online store, just browsing like I was actually gonna buy something, you know? I found the “BLACK LE CARR satchel in BOX SAINT LAURENT”. That’s the one I wanted to recreate.
Then came the fun part – choosing the materials. I wanted to find a good quality leather that wouldn’t totally break the bank. I ended up going to a local fabric store, and let me tell you, I felt like a kid in a candy store. After searching around, I picked out some black leather, I am trying to make it look like the original, you know. I also got some gold-tone hardware, ’cause the original bag has that, and it looks pretty classy.
Once I had all my materials, I started working on the bag. Now, I’m no professional, but I’ve dabbled in a bit of sewing before. I carefully measured and cut the leather, trying my best to match the shape of the LE CARRÉ. I watched a few sewing tutorials online and followed. It was tough, I won’t lie. I messed up a few times and had to redo some parts.
- The hardest part was probably getting the stitching just right. I wanted it to look neat and clean, just like the real deal.
- Attaching the hardware was also a bit of a challenge. I had to make sure it was secure and wouldn’t just fall off, especially the logo part. I did it again and again to make sure it is secured.
After a lot of trial and error, and a few late nights, I finally finished my Remake Yves Saint Laurent YSL LE CARRÉ SATCHEL BAG! It wasn’t perfect, of course. There were a few imperfections here and there, but overall, I was pretty darn proud of myself. It looked surprisingly similar to the pictures I’d seen online, and it definitely had that same vibe.
The Result
I’ve been using the bag for a few weeks now, and I gotta say, I’m loving it. It’s the perfect size for carrying my everyday essentials, and it goes with pretty much everything in my wardrobe. Plus, it’s a great conversation starter. People are always asking me where I got it, and they’re always surprised when I tell them I made it myself! It’s a good feeling, making something with your own hands, you know? It might not be the real YSL, but it’s mine, and that’s what matters. It’s a bit rough around the edges, just like me, but it works. And I learned a lot in the process.
