So, I finally got my hands on one of these bad boys – the OMEGA Speedmaster “Silver Snoopy Award” 50th Anniversary. Let me tell you, it was a journey.
First off, I called up a bunch of OMEGA boutiques. No dice. “Waitlist this, waitlist that,” they all said. Some places wouldn’t even put me on the list! I started to get the feeling that these watches were rarer than a friendly smile on the subway.
Then I decided to visit some stores in person. I put on my “serious watch buyer” face and marched into a few OMEGA places. Showed ’em I was really interested, you know? Talked about the history, the Snoopy connection, all that jazz. Still nothing.
But I didn’t give up. I kept calling, kept visiting. I even started chatting up some of the sales folks, getting to know them a little. Building a rapport, as they say. I started to feel like a regular, like Norm from “Cheers,” except instead of beer, I was after a Snoopy watch.
The Breakthrough
Finally, after months of this, I walked into one boutique, and the sales guy, a really cool dude named Mike, recognized me. We chatted for a bit, and then he said, “You know what, we just got one in. It’s not officially for sale yet, but…” He winked. My heart skipped a beat. Could it be?

But to get this I went to many stores for a long time, and finally, I made it. It is really not easy, and you can not get it easily.
